Before joining Simpson, Thomas & Associates in 2016 to work with Stephen Ferguson, another lawyer and partner at the firm, Esther had 8 years of experience that focused on corporate commercial and real estate work. She operated her own law firm with a focus on serving the needs of the Korean community. Since 2016, Esther has focused primarily on ICBC personal injury law, and has applied expertise from her past practice areas to promote the rights and interests of her injured clients with a well-rounded and multi-faceted approach.

Esther’s multidisciplinary perspective provides her with a unique advantage in ensuring that her client’s needs and concerns are addressed with a broad view approach, and in assessing the value of her clients’ losses from multiple angles.

After almost 14 years of experience, she is now broadening her practice by offering support and representation in her former areas of practice again. She is excited to provide comprehensive legal representation for her clients and their various needs.

Esther immigrated to Canada from South Korea when she was 7 years old. She has kept close ties with her Korean background through extensive involvement in the Korean community, by serving on the board of directors of many Korean non-profit organizations and volunteering at many events within the Korean community. Esther also has involvement in non-profit organizations and community events that serve the general population of Greater Vancouver including the many different cultures and ethnicities that form a part of its multicultural identity. Her service to her community has provided her with a deep understanding of the issues and struggles faced by not only Korean immigrants but by the various ethnic, cultural or special interest groups of Greater Vancouver, and has given her the ability to provide legal representation to her clients with compassion and a better understanding of all their needs and goals.
